Extra Credit: study tips

I have found that I am a combinational learner. Reading, reading, reading. Actually reading the material and taking notes on the reading is the most beneficial way of learning for me. I must go over things numerous times until it gets stuck in my mind, only if there is a LOT of material being covered in class. Another thing is that I must not procrastinate. I procrastinate too much. And the worst thing is that I know I am doing it! Another thing I learned to do is make weekly lists. A weekly list for academics, for work, and for any other things I must to throughout the week. I make this list by prioritizing. Whatever thing on my list is the most important will be #1 on the list and so on. Another thing that I have learned to do, is stick with my very first decision. I cannot go back on my word. I must always follow through with whatever I am doing. The routine I have here in college is the same as I did in high school: school, gym, work. Academics are much more difficult yet so laid back with scheduling. It is very easy to fall behind in school. Gym is the same, go to work out, and be very committed. Work is the same as well, come into work, and try to be as involved with work as possible. The only thing that is different is the in between. Friends, where I am going to live, and what I want to do with the rest of my life. So my learning skills and organizational skills are developing and coming into play now. Right now, right here.

  1. It sounds like you've figured out what works for you and what you need to do. That's at least half the battle.
