Non-Muse Event #3
Since I have become a part of the SJSU's Women's Gymnastics Team, there are many responsibilities we must uphold. One of the most important responsibilities is selling programs at all the home football games every year. This was fun and exciting the very first time I did it. But as the semester came to an end, as did the football season, the weather became viscously cold in the evening. We had to stand outside for about two hours in SJSU Gymnastics attire; a team t-shirt with jeans and a gymnastics sweatshirt. Not the warmest wardrobe for the cold. But the purpose of selling these programs is to help raise money for the gymnastics team to be able to purchase new equipment. Also, we meet new people, building communication skills. There are so many people involved with this school: students, faculty and staff, and alumni. This is the best opportunity for young adults to get connected with people and build their communicative skills as well as relationships with other people for the future. The coach always says, "Build connections, connection, connections."
